THE CONNECTED FILM FESTIVAL

SPOTLIGHT FILM SHOWCASE: Spaventare

SUBMIT YOUR FILM - INSTRUCTIONS - LEGAL - REVIEW

FEATURE FILM: Spaventare.
PRODUCTION COMPANY: Icon Film Studios, Red Woods Productions.
CAST: Sarah Bray, Rod Grant. (Note: Sarah Bray was a friend of Passinault’s and was referred to the film by him. He transported her to and from the set, which was Chris Wood's Apartment).
Jerry Caldarise, Francesca Grarrido, Kerry Hunt, Melissa Webb, and Suzanne Wieland are also credited in the cast, but they were NOT in the film. They were in a photograph used in the film. The cast was actually just two actors, Sarah Bray and Rod Grant. That’s it.
Then we have casting. C. A. Passinault was listed as assistant casting in the original release of this film, which is true. He cast Sarah Bray. There was another person listed under casting who had nothing to do with the casting of this film, as she is associated with the other “cast members” who were only present in a photograph used in the film. - C. A. Passinault

CREW / CREDITS: Written, Produced, Directed, and Edited by Chris Woods.
Lighting: Tracy Fitzgerald, Terence Nuzum.
Assistant Camera: Terence Nuzum.
Production Assistant: John Miller (Note: Miller was never on set when the film was shot. Not sure why he is credited. Note made by C. A. Passinault, who was on the set).
Music: Tzimisce.
Make-Up: Sarah Bray.
Still Photography: C. A. Passinault.
Props: Kelli Malafronte, Ashley Gioia, Tracy Fitzgerald, Sarah Bray.
Film Footage: “Lost Faith”, “The Part”, “Dementia 13".

GENRE: Horror.
PRODUCTION FILMING LOCATION: St. Petersburg, Florida.
CONTENT WARNING: Parental Guidance Suggested.
TOTAL RUNNING TIME (TRT): 10:54.
SYNOPSIS: A woman opens the Door to an intruder who is truly frightening.
FILM PRODUCTION AND RELEASE YEAR: 2009.
REVIEWS: Official review as well as other reviews of Spaventare.
INTERVIEWS: Interview/s with filmmaker.
FILMMAKER NOTES/ INFORMATION: Submitted by the filmmaker.
SCORE RANKING (1-100): See our ONLINE FILM FESTIVAL SHOWCASE competition channel for score information.
LANGUAGES: English. No subtitles or running commentary.
THE CONNECTED FILM FESTIVAL OPINION: One of the best examples of a no-cost short independent film, and it was made in the Tampa Bay area. It’s a really good film, too; a brilliant film by independent filmmaker Chris Woods.
Legal note: This version of Spaventare is the original version, which is also included as a bonus film in the DVD release for another local Tampa By independent, Brainjacked, which was edited by Chris Woods. All other releases have altered and incorrect credits. Credits for this film on IMDB are incorrect.

NOTES: Credits are padded, but mostly correct. Other versions of Spaventare have altered and incorrect credits. This production was not covered by Work For Hire Agreements, Releases, or any signed legal documents. The copyright and ownership is in dispute, although it was made by Chris Woods.
Chris Woods should be proud of the film that he was able to pull off at no cost with a cast of two and a crew of four. We are not sure why he insisted on trying to make this production larger than it actually was by padding the credits, and then later altering the credits and removing people who were involved.
