- We are currently adding content to the Connected Film Festival site
as we prepare to launch it, with an anticipated site launch in two days,
on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
The site will launch with 16 independent films playing, some of which
were originally on the predecessor to this web site, that Tampa Bay Film
Online Film Festival, which ran from 2007 to 2012, with tremendous success
as it became the most viewed film festival in Florida.
The original plan was to move the online film festival to the new Tampa
Bay Film web site (which was launched at Tampa Bay Independent Film .Com
in 2013, ten year ago, which is now Tampa Bay Independent Film with the
advent of the relaunch of Tampa Bay Film under its original domain name.
In 2013, the original online film festival was shut down so that it could
be moved and its content migrated, which took quite a bit of time because
we had to wait for it to drop off of search engine results. This led to
delays, and then the online film festival was in development hell for
the next ten years.
Once established on the Internet, the Connected Film Festival will have
at least four independent films a week added to its curated playlist until
we have a decent library of films and other videos. The Connected Film
Festival, however, is much more than just an online film festival. It
also has a built-in upgrade path going forward, and is a hybrid online
film festival and film festival and professional networking event series,
with one or multiple attached event properties in development; for now,
it’s just an online film festival. The word “Connected”
in the branding actually has three meanings:
01. Online
02. Networking
03. Connecting with indie film and playing to its strengths, as independent film is not necessarily the same thing as a Hollywood movie, and indie films do not have to be necessarily made the same was as a movie. As such, the costs and logistics of making independent films is greatly reduced, with low to no budgets, faster production with smaller crews, good quality, superior stories and concepts, and the ability to experiment and make lots of films without going into debt or incurring financial risks. The “expensive hobby” lamented my so many filmmakers can actually become a career, or could simply an affordable hobby; it doesn’t matter.
The Connected Film Festival is a platform, offered free of charge, to effectively screen those independent films. - 10/02/23/1944

11/19/23/1100/1251/ - Updated header graphic and the main menu. Adding sections and content. Preparing to add more independent films later this week. Assing reviews. Working on a logo, which should debut on another header update before the end of the month. The logo is needed for support graphics.
11/09/23/1403 - Adding content to content already online to prepare for the addition of more independent films.
10/04/23/1730 - Connected Film Festival online.
10/01/23 - Completed the design and began assembling the Connected Film Festival. Integrating content.
