INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTION

- HELP
The Connected Film Festival
is designed to be intuitive and very easy to use. These instructions cover
a few of the topics that our visitors normally inquire about. We will
be adding to this section as time goes on.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at TampaBayFilm@Yahoo.Com
. If, after reading these instructions, you are still stuck, check out
our help section!
We hope that you enjoy the Connected Film Festival!
HOW TO ADD YOUR FILM TO OUR
ONLINE FILM FESTIVAL
Please note that we cannot,
and will not, post or show any indie film which has content which could
be considered objectionable or obscene by most community standards. We
reserve the right to refuse to show any film without given cause or reason.
We do not accept every film submitted; we carefully and respectfully
curate the library of independent films that we make avaiable for screening
on this web site.
The Connected Film Festival does not show any material
of an adult nature or any film which would go beyond an "R"
rating.
Submitting your film to our online film festival is free, and we will
play it until either you or our staff decides to remove it. 24
hours a day and 7 days a week, anyone, anywhere in the world can watch
your film! Another great thing about our online film
festival is that we play films here and don't have nearly as much questionable
content as Youtube does. This means that people coming here
are looking for indie films, and they don't have to wade through a bunch
of amateur or irrelevant videos to find you.
Find out more about how to submit
your film, and please follow the directions.
WATCHING FILMS ON OUR ONLINE
FILM FESTIVAL
Indie films on the Connected
Film Festival are hosted on free video hosting web sites such as Youtube.
We have no control over content hosted elsewhere, and a film can be removed
without our knowledge if the file source is removed, which is what happens
when the filmmaker deletes the file or makes it private on their hosting
account.
Most filmmakers who have files linked to our site become aware of us.
Indie filmmakers which find their films playing on our online film festival
and find a bad review or opinion of their film usually delete the file
on their hosting account, which creates a bad file link on our online
film festival.
The Connected Film Festival removes films from our online film festival
when we discover that the film file source is no longer working. If you
discover a film which has had its source file deleted, and it will no
longer play, please let us know by contacting us at TampaBayFilm@Yahoo.Com
. We will remove dead
film files on our end. We reserve the right to maintain the content portion
of the film page in our graveyard channel to maintain appropriate search
engine results for that title.
To play a film on the Connected Film Festival, please use the controls
on the embedded video file. After the file plays, select another film
on our online film festival menu or press play on the embedded video file
to play the film again. If you click on the video file window and miss
the control bar, it will take you off of the Connected Film Festival to
the source site hosting the file, such as Youtube. If this happens, simply
hit the back arrow on your Internet browser to return to our online film
festival and resume watching films. If you remain on the hosting site,
it will become very difficult to find indie films in the massive index
of home videos and other amateur videos. Stick with us.
MANAGING ADS
Most independent filmmakers
do not have large channels on video hosting sites and they are not monetized.
This means that, for most indie films and video content, that there will
not be any ads or commercials, meaning that someone with no account on
the source video hosting service can watch the films screened on the Connected
Film Festival with no disruptions. We do, however, also have videos from
large channels on video hosting sites with support content such as filmmaking
tutorials, however, organized in channels on this online film festival
which don't usually have independent films listed (You won't find them
on our indie film viewing channels). We are not affiliated with any video
hosting web sites and do not make any money selling their services. That
said, for best results, you may wish to invest in a subscription on the
hosting site which opts out of viewing ads. We have a Premium account
on the main one, and do not regret it. You don't need it, however.
SUGGESTIONS
If you have any suggestions,
please contact us at TampaBayFilm@Yahoo.Com
. We look forward to hearing from you!
Please note that, due to the high volume of Email that we receive, that
it may take a while for us to respond. Thank you.
