The Connected Film Festival
is a third generation online film festival, replacing the immensely successful
generation online film festival built by Tampa Bay Film.
The Connected Film Festival is based on an updated, and often brand new,
format from the original second generation online film festival. The format
has been refined, and the new, third generation Connected Film Festival
stand-alone web site that you are now on utilizes the latest web site
design technology, and is much more refined and is far more effective
than the original online film festival. We have improved upon what has
worked, and have discarded what did not. Everyone using this web site
benefits from our experience.
The Connected Film Festival has an emphasis on Tampa indie films, and
this online film festival gives Tampa indie films priority. We also show
indie films from elsewhere in the United States and the World when Tampa
indie films are not available to inspire Tampa filmmakers and to maintain
a variety of indie films on our online film festival.
The Connected Film Festival does not currently host indie film files directly.
Our online film festival is designed to access online films hosted elsewhere
through embed codes. Because of this strategy, our online film festival
has low Internet bandwidth and overhead business-wise, allowing this service
to be offered for free and with maximum up-time. Because the Connected
Film Festival does not directly control the hosting of the films playing
on this web site, we have resources to report problems with the playback
of films and a comprehensive help resource. The Connected Film Festival
is not responsible for films which will not play, and some films may not
be available if the hosting server is having difficulty or the film content
owner removes the film from the hosting account.
The Connected Film Festival is compatible with a variety of online video
services. The Connected Film Festival online film festival has been optimized
to be most compatible with video files hosted on Youtube, Revver, and
Google Video.
If you wish to show your indie film on the Connected Film Festival, you
must make your film available with public embed codes. We are unable to
show films which do not have embed codes.
All films playing on our online film festival are subject to reviews and
opinions about them to be published. Expanded reviews would be published
on the Florida Film Review web site and linked to them and referenced
from our reviews on the Connected Film Festival.
For 2024, The Connected Film Festival will continue to play indie films
hosted on other servers, and all indie films on our online film festival
will be added and maintained manually by our web team. This works well,
but this site has been designed from scratch to be expandable, and it
is not intended to always operate this way.
In the future, the online film festival component of the Connected Film
Festival will be user-updated, and user account holders, being indie filmmakers,
will be able to upload and maintain their films on our web site. The first
user uploads will require embed codes and the indie filmmaker to host
their film online elsewhere as it is now, but eventually we will expand
this site with a new hosting server and a video template format exclusive
to the Connected Film Festival. Eventually, we will host indie films directly
on this site. That, however, is the future. Now, in the present, the Connected
Film Festival is the best online film festival in the Tampa indie film
and the Florida indie film markets.
The Connected Film Festival is the official online film festival of Tampa
indie film production company Spaventare Films, who we are affiliated
with, and several other creative, professional Tampa indie film production
studios. We are excited to be the first choice of many of Tampa's top
filmmaking talent to show their indie films and to help market the best
feature films produced in the Tampa Bay market.
The films of Spaventare Films, which we anticipate to be the very best
groundbreaking Tampa indie films, will be exclusively shown on the Connected
Film Festival and our film festival events. Our indie film showcases and
Tampa Bay film festivals are designed to be the most effective, and the
most professional, platform to show indie films to the world. We are the
professional film festival alternative to everything else out there, and
it is our intention to be the absolute best way to show and market films
in the Tampa Bay indie film market.
We are here to assist indie film professionals and to help a professional
Tampa Bay independent film community to thrive and grow. The future of
Tampa Bay indie films begins now.
The Connected Film Festival is a Revolution Class web site by Tampa Bay
web design firm Aurora PhotoArts. The principle designer and webmaster
is Tampa Bay entertainment and production polymath C. A. Passinault. C.
A. Passinault is also the director of this online film festival and Tampa
Bay Film.
The Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival launched, and became fully operational,
in October 2008. The Connected Film Festival launched, and became fully
operational, in October 2023. The original Tampa Bay Film Online Film
Festival, which is a part of the original Tampa Bay Film web site, is
now officially retired, although that online film festival directories
and files will be maintained for archive purposes. All Tampa Bay Film
online film festival controls, menus, and links have been redirected to
the Connected Film Festival. As a result, we had heavy Internet traffic
and lots of site visitors / indie film viewers as soon as we launched,
as Tampa Bay Film is currently the top Tampa indie film web site with
the highest Internet traffic in the Tampa indie film industry.
We are the best Florida online film festival, and we will prove it to
you. We hope that the Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival is a useful
tool for your career as a filmmaker, and that views will appreciate the
variety of indie films playing here on our online film festival.
Enjoy!
